What Are Message Variables?

Message variables are smart tags used in notification templates that get replaced with real-time information when the message is sent. They pull data directly from customer details or booking records and insert it into the message automatically.

For instance, rather than manually typing a customer's name, you can use a placeholder like {{customer_name}}, which will automatically display the correct name for each recipient.

Commonly Used Variables

Below are some standard variables available in QWaiting:

  • {{panel_name}} – Name of the service or department panel

  • {{token}} – Customer's queue/token number

  • {{queue_count}} – Number of people ahead in the queue

  • {{waiting_time}} – Estimated waiting time in minutes

  • {{ticket_link}} – Link to the customer’s ticket

  • {{booking_date}} – Scheduled booking date

  • {{booking_time}} – Scheduled booking time

These variables can be used across SMS, Email, and WhatsApp notifications.
